Nina and Isa are BFF and together they had an appointment with Cora and Greg at the Atelier because they wanted to make a gorgeous top to impress their lovely mothers on this special mothersday.

First Pageant experience by Sanne Molenaar (14yr)

The 26th of March was the Miss Westfriesland pageant in ‘Bantam’ in Hoogkarspel
which was organized by Fletcha Events. Cora and Greg had invited me to go there and
I really liked it. I had never been to such a pageant before and it was a nice experience.

The jury consisted of Anke Jabroer, who is the Miss Queen of the World Netherlands 2010-2011, Nanska van de Laar, on behalf of the Noordhollands Dagblad and the designers Cora and Greg of the company Laurisa Inspired.

The pageant consisted of 3 rounds. In the first round, there were shown little films as an introduction of every Miss. In this round, the Misses had to combine blazers of a certain designer with their own clothes in such a way that it would look good.

In the second round, they wore bikinis of Marlies Dekkers and they also had to answer questions about the Westfriesland region and in the final round, the Misses wore beautiful dresses of Laurisa and they were asked what they wanted to mean for Westfriesland if theywould win the pageant.

After having waited for a couple of minutes, the jury had made a decision about who would be the winner. The second Runner Up is Melissa Mantel, the first Runner Up is Lisanne de Rooij and the winner is Liselot Tensen!

I really liked to have experienced this! At first, I actually didn’t know what to expect of a pageant but by now, I know a lot more about what all happens during such an evening and what is going on before and after it wherefore I have learned a lot about it.

Liselot Tensen uit HOORN - Miss West-Friesland 2011

Hoogkarspel, zaterdag 26 maart 2011 - Liselot Tensen - Miss West-Friesland 2011.

West-Friesland mag vanaf vandaag vertegenwoordigd worden door de 19 jarige HBO studente Liselot Tensen uit Hoorn. Liselot heeft de Jury weten te overtuigen dat zij die fel begeerde titel voor West-Friesland mag dragen.

Liselot Tensen schrijft hiermee geschiedenis omdat ze de eerste kandidaat is die de titel mag dragen als Miss West-Friesland. Dit was de allereerste editie van de Miss West-Friesland 2011 verkiezing.

Aan deze finale deden 10 prachtige kandidaten mee gekleed in de droomjurken van het mode merk Laurisa inspired ontworpen door de ontwerpers duo Cora en Greg. 

De vier koppige jury bestaande uit Nanska van de Laar namens het Noord Hollands Dagblad, Anke Jabroer Queen of the World Netherlands 2010-2011, de ontwerpers duo Cora en Greg van Laurisa inspired hadden het niet makkelijk  om de top 3 samen te stellen. Na lang beraad ziet de top drie er als volgt uit:

Miss West-Friesland
- Liselot Tensen 19 jaar uit Hoorn


1st Runner up
- Lisanne de Rooij 16 jaar uit Hoorn

2nd Runner up
- Melissa Mantel 17 jaar uit Enkhuizen

De andere kandidaten hebben genoten van de finale omdat ze op de catwalk te gekleed gingen in badkleding van Marlies Dekkers en in de droomjurken van Laurisa inspired. De kandidaten zien de deelname aan deze verkiezing als een opstapje in de wereld van Health Beauty and Glamour.

Miss West-Friesland word georganiseerd door Arjen Ott en Michiel Beemsterboer. Tijdens het ontstaan van dit evenement hebben ze de ontwerpers Cora en Greg benaderd voor een samenwerking. 

Cora en Greg onder andere bekend van het Miss Icons concept konden aan deze samenwerking hun ervaring en expertise overdragen.

Miss Icons heeft de catwalk clinic verzorgt onder leiding van Reggie. Die de finale niet had kunnen bijwonen door het verlies van zijn vader op Aruba.

One day at Laurisa - young talent Sanne

Hello everybody,

I’m Sanne Molenaar and perhaps I would like to become a fashion designer. For school, everybody has to look into a job you would like to get later and therefore today, I am looking what the job of a fashion designer actually is and whether I like it.

Cora has shown me some dresses she has designed and made and she explained me all the things she does. Beside that, she explained me how she has built up her business and told me that she is already a fashion designer since 28 years, which is in my opinion a very long period of time. She has also designed a lot of dresses for pageants.

Greg showed me some pictures and films of those. I really liked it! Furthermore, he also showed me a film of an advertisement for Hi which he made himself and I was surprised because I didn’t expect that he had made it. Overall, I think it was a very nice day and perhaps in a few years, I will also be a fashion designer!

Miss Tourism International 2010 - Nathalie Den Dekker dressed by Cora and Greg

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, December 31, 2010 – Nathalie Den Dekker was chosen Miss Tourism International 2010 during the annual pageant gala.

Nathalie had chosen her favorite and best fashion designers Greg and Cora for the fabulous evening gowns. 

Dutch and Aruban co-designers Greg and Cora are excited that Nathalie won this title for The Netherlands for the first time and appearing in a precious evening gown designed by the duo designers.

(Miss Universe Angela Visser was the last contestant to win a title in 1989 for The Netherlands.)

Miss Tourism International is a globally recognized as a premier international pageant, the Miss Tourism International world final is the ONE AND ONLY New Year’s Eve pageant that host many international strong beauty queens from around the world.

The last beauty pageant of 2010 took place on December 31st when Miss Netherlands, Nathalie den Dekker, was chosen Miss Tourism International 2010 during the annual gala held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  

Nathalie earlier won the Miss KL Sogo Trendsetter 2010 special award. Nathalie has also won the title Miss Benelux Netherlands. She was supposed to represent the Netherlands at Miss Earth 2010 but because of change of franchise ownership she missed the opportunity.

21-year old Nathalie is a student at Utrecht university studying Law. She was earlier crowned Miss Bikini Healthy in China.

Congratulations to Miss Netherlands Nathalie Den Dekker for winning Miss Tourism International 2010. Katia Maes is the proud franchise holder for the Miss Tourism International

Finally the hard work designing feminine beautiful dresses and creating a new concept called Miss Icons is getting the Dutch Pageant standard up to an International competing level.

Laurisa is founded by the Dutch designer Cora and the Aruban designer Greg in the late 2006. Cora was born in the Netherlands after her study she worked in the Haute Couture industry. Greg was born in the Dutch Antilles Island of Aruba and his passion for fashion dated since his childhood. In the year 2004 Cora and Greg met each other and since then they formed the fashion duo loved by much fashionistas.

The entire collection and dresses are for sale in the new Showroom and Atelier located within the Head Office in Amsterdam.

Noran Mostafa first runner up Queen of the World 2010

Nurnburgring-Duitsland, vrijdag 17 december 2010 – Queen of the World 2010.

Op een unieke top locatie de race circuit Nurnburgring in Duitsland werd de Queen of the World 2010 verkiezing gehouden. Gekleed in de prachtige mode creaties van de ontwerpers duo Cora en Greg wist Miss Noran Mostafa de tweede prijs en de titel first runner up in de wacht te slepen.

Noran Mostafa uit Zuid Holland werd eerder op 17 september 2010 in België gekroond tot Miss Queen of the Benelux 2010.  Met de titel Miss Queen of the Benelux ging Noran naar Duitsland met als doel een prijs of titel voor de Benelux te winnen.

Miss Queen of the World is een internationale verkiezing waaraan 50 landen deelnemen. De organisatie van Queen of the World heeft zich als doel elk jaar de verkiezing te houden op een zeer bijzondere of unieke locatie. Thema van dit jaar was racen en in het bijzonder formule 1 en zo ook de keuze voor de Nurnburgring.

Tijdens deze verkiezing hebben nog 3 kandidaten zich laten kleden door de ontwerpers duo Cora en Greg. 

Anke Jabroer voor Nederland, Katharina Winterschladen voor België en Elisabeth del Boccio voor Luxemburg.

Het is voor het eerst dat op een internationale verkiezing 4 landen/kandidaten zich laten kleden door een en dezelfde modemerk.

Naast de winst van Noran Mostafa zijn de ontwerpers en het hele Laurisa team heel blij met het behaalde top 10 resultaat door Anke Jabroer (NL).

Winnares en Queen of the World 2010 werd de Russische Maria Furdychka

Op de derde plaats eindigde Miss Ludmila Voroncova.

De ontwerpers zijn heel tevreden met hun eigen nieuw concept genaamd Miss Icons. In dit beproeft concept staan de Missen of kandidaten centraal. 

Training en coaching is een onderdeel die gegeven word in de vestiging van het Modehuis Laurisa in Amsterdam. Op deze wijze worden de Missen in spe beter voorbereid voor de deelname tijdens internationale verkiezingen. Het team en in het bijzonder Reggie hebben veel ervaring in het klaar stomen van kandidaten voor internationale Miss en Beauty verkiezingen.

De kleding voor de 4 kandidaten bestond uit drie rondes: Cocktail jurk, evening dress en de 4 geweldige Nationaal Kostuum. Met dit laatste bedenken de ontwerpers een creatie en leggen dit vast in een herkenbare thema uit het land van de deelnemende kandidaat.

Naast het vieren van dit record zijn de ontwerpers en het hele Laurisa team heel blij met het behaalde top 10 resultaat door Anke Jabroer (NL) en Noran Mostafa (Benelux).

Noran Mostafa wist in de top 3 te eindigen en heeft de tweede prijs/first runner up voor Benelux behaald.
